The primary purpose is to oversee the daily functions of the shipping department in all aspects from collection of the product
from production to loading of trucks and containers as well. Aiding in the unloading of in-bound product in a timely and efficient manner. The Dock Supervisor is also responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work area. Ensure all shipping personnel follow the safety guidelines of the company and reporting any issues to the safety committee or Director of Logistics. The Dock Supervisor is to lead by example and operate with the companies best interest in mind.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

Proven ability to load and unload palletize loads from trucks.
Able to palletize orders from cutting in a efficient manner.
Able to verify pallet qualities and weights prior to shipping.
Assist receiving with counting of inbound products before they are put into inventory.
The ability to mentor to Dock Associates.
Able to unload trucks and store in a safe manner.


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform
each essential duty satisfactorily. 

Education and/or Experience
fifth year college or university program certificate; or two to four years related
experience and/or training or training/ or equivalent combination of education and

Language Skills
Ability to read analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals,
technical procedures, or governmental
regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information
and respond to questions from group of managers, clients, customers, and general

Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole
numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent
and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in
situations where only limited standardization
exist. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or
schedule form.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand;
walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or
hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The
employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/
or move up to 50 pounds.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving
mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
