General Manager

Americo Manufacturing Company, Inc. has an immediate opening for a General Manager to direct and coordinate activities of its Matting Division.  The General Manager will be a member of Americo's Executive Management team and will have full profit and loss responsibility, serve as the business unit manager and will be responsible for formulating and administering organizational vision, processes and policies for the division.

General Manager Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Participates in formulating and administering company policies, directing and coordinating all divisional department activities to develop and implement long-range goals and objectives to meet business and profitability growth objectives.
  • Embodies company's culture and Guiding Principles and promotes continued growth and perpetuation of these principles throughout the organization.
  • Owns division P&L; reviews and analyzes all activities; responsible for top and bottom line results.
  • Collaborates with CEO, President, Executive VP or Operations, and other leadership personnel to review performance towards goals and objectives for the division.
  • Develops, reviews, updates and implements business strategic planning, including sales, financial performance and new product development.
  • Oversees manufacturing and materials departments to review production and operating reports and resolve operational, manufacturing and facility problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays and to meet future growth.
  • Develop asset utilization plan, drive consistency to quality standards and champion continuous process improvement throughout the division.
  • Oversees key projects, processes and performance reports, data and analysis. Responsible for both CAPEX and OPEX results throughout the division.
  • Reviews and supports engineering and sales to oversee design concepts with fundamental or new technology used for new or existing products or improvement to provide cost reduction, safety, customer requirements and market growth.
  • Reviews operations and plans to meet requirements for sales planning and to ascertain manufacturing vs. outsourcing requirements to serve current and new market opportunities.

General Manager Requirements

  • Master's degree (M. A.) or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred experience: prior engineering, finance, business, or production management experience, lean management with focus on sustainable continues improvement, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Well-developed business acumen
  • Evidence of successful change management, including culture change, with a culture of innovation, open collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Able to develop and foster effective working relationships with all contacts
  • Proven ability to work and be successful in a self-directed environment
  • Excellent verbal, written, technical and presentation skills
  • Able to effectively manage competing priorities
  • Able to meet frequent short timeline goals and deadlines
